This 1940s sewing pattern includes three different wash frocks, each with its own bodice and skirt design.
View A is a button-front dress with a bloused bodice, square shoulders and a three-panel skirt.
View B has a wrap-over bodice with tuck detailing, a high neckline and decorative bow.
View C is a shirtwaist-style dress with a step collar, two-panel skirt and contrasting stripe details.Cotton would be an obvious choice for a traditional wash frock, with rayon, viscose and other washable dress fabrics also suitable depending on the finish required.
The pattern is designed for a 38-inch bust, 31-inch waist and 42-inch hip.
The original sewing instructions are quite basic, so this pattern is best suited to an intermediate sewer or someone already comfortable with vintage pattern construction.
