This elegant 1940s vamp-style camisole and panties knitting pattern creates a flattering, close-
fitting vintage lingerie set. The camisole is worked in stocking stitch with k2, p2 rib for shaping,
then finished with delicate embroidery in buttonhole stitch and French knots.
Contrasting bias binding at the bra top, waist, and leg openings gives a neat, tailored look,
while the camisole is shaped to sit comfortably over the hips for that classic 1940s silhouette.
The pattern uses approximately 7 oz (200g) of 3 ply wool with No. 10 and 12 needles, plus
bias binding, ribbon for straps, four buttons, and a small amount of contrast yarn.
Finished size: camisole fits a 34 inch bust and 36 inch hips, length about 21 inches. Panties
measure around 16 inches long and fit hips approximately 38 inches, with some flexibility
for adjustment.
