This lovely 1940s lingerie set has such a delicate, feminine feel, with pretty lace stitch
borders and softly scalloped edges that really stand out once knitted. The vest is gently
shaped with ribbing at the waist, giving it a flattering, close fit, while the matching
panties can be made in either a short leg or a longer leg style depending on the look
you prefer.
To make the set you’ll need approximately 7 ozs (around 200 grams) of 2 or 3 ply baby
or fingering weight yarn, along with a pair of No. 10 needles, which is 3.75 mm UK or
5 US, and No. 12 needles (old size), 2.75 mm UK or 2 US.
The finished vest is designed to fit a 32–34 inch bust and measures about 26 inches
in length, making it a beautifully wearable piece as well as a charming vintage project.
