1940s Tea Dress Sewing Pattern – Shirred Bodice, Bust 36″

A distinctive 1940s dress with a shirred centre-front panel that provides shaping through the bodice and waist. The skirt continues from the bodice with attached side panels, creating a softly shaped silhouette.

The neckline has a small slash opening finished with a neat collar, and the dress can be made with either short or long sleeves. A detachable lace collar is also included, giving you another way to vary the finished dress.

Cotton, silk, viscose and rayon would all work well for an everyday or afternoon version. Chiffon, satin or lace could be used for a dressier evening finish.

The pattern is sized to fit a 36″ (91 cm) bust and 30″ (76 cm) waist.
