1940s Striped Jumper Knitting Pattern – Vintage Semi-Fitted Sweater with V Pockets

A neat striped jumper in classic 1940s style, featuring alternating narrow stripes, ribbed borders,
and two distinctive V-striped pockets on either side of the front. The garment is worked mainly
in stocking stitch with single rib, giving the finished jumper a softly semi-fitted shape. The
neckline is worked using four double-pointed needles.

Finished Measurements
Designed to fit a 34–36 inch bust. Length from the top of the shoulders is 19 inches, and the sleeve
seam measures 6 inches.

Materials Required
Patons Beehive Fingering 3-ply (Patonised shrink-resist finish): 4 oz (114 g) in a dark shade and
3 oz (86 g) in a light shade. You will also need a pair of No. 11 (3 mm) needles, a pair of No. 12
(2.75 mm) needles, and a set of four No. 12 (2.75 mm) double-pointed needles.

Tension
8 stitches to 1 inch.
