1940s Hooded Blouse and Wide Leg Trousers Sewing Pattern

A versatile 1940s sewing pattern for a hooded blouse and wide leg trousers, with several variations that give you plenty of choice in how you make it.

The blouse fastens at the front and has square yokes, a patch pocket and a choice of long or short sleeves. You can make it with a convertible collar or choose the hooded version, which gives the blouse a rather different look.

The four-piece trousers are high waisted with lovely wide legs and can be finished with either plain hems or turn-ups. They fasten at the side, with the choice of using buttons or a zip.

Together they make a very typical 1940s trouser outfit, but I particularly like that both pieces are useful on their own. The blouse would work just as well with a skirt, while the trousers could easily become a good everyday wardrobe staple.

Suggested fabrics include chambray, hopsack, poplin, corduroy, twill and linen.

To fit Bust 36 inches, Waist 30 inches and Hip 39 inches.
