1930s Striped Polo Jumper Knitting Pattern – Short Sleeve

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

A lovely little striped polo jumper with a neat collar and short sleeves, perfect for wearing with skirts or trousers. It’s a straightforward design, knitted mainly in stocking stitch with contrasting stripes and ribbed cuffs and waistband.

There’s a small opening at the back neck, finished with a little double crochet and a button loop, so some basic crochet knowledge will come in handy.

The original colour combination was grey, white and petunia pink, but you could easily choose your own colours.

To fit: 32–34 inch bust.

Original yarn: Diana Non-shrink Knitting 3-ply. Approximately 85g grey, 85g white and 29g petunia. Needles: 3.25mm (UK 10) and 2.75mm (UK 12), plus one button.

Tension: 7 stitches to 1 inch over stocking stitch.

Modern 4-ply yarn may be suitable, but do check your tension before starting to make sure you achieve the correct size.
