1940s Panelled Coat Sewing Pattern – Patch Pockets, Bust 34″

Price range: £10.49 through £20.99

A 1940s panelled coat with a neatly tailored shape and large patch pockets set into the front design. The back is also panelled, with a centre-back seam opening into a pleat below to provide additional ease and movement.

The coat has a simple round collar and two-piece sleeves finished with cuffs. It fastens at the neck and waist with buttons and is fully lined.

The pattern is sized to fit a 34″ (86 cm) bust.

No specific fabrics are given in the pattern, but wool, tweed, Melton and similar medium to heavyweight coating fabrics would work well. Canvas is also required to provide structure to the front facing.

The pattern includes basic step-by-step instructions together with an additional tailoring and sewing guide to provide more detailed guidance where the period instructions are brief.

This pattern is available in three convenient formats:

✔️  A0 PDF: Ideal for sending to a print shop.
