Carefully restored reproductions of original designs, ready for today’s makers.
Price range: £3.99 through £5.99
This vintage knitting pattern is for a matching skirt and scoop-neck sweater, designed to be worn together as a complete knitted outfit or separately.
The skirt is worked in stocking stitch, while the sweater uses a wide rib pattern, giving the two pieces contrasting textures.
The original yarn choices were Emu Calypso Double Twist, a washable double knitting yarn, or Emu Scotch 3-ply fingering. Approximately 23–30 oz (653–850 g) is required depending on the size and yarn used.
The pattern uses old UK No. 11, No. 12 and No. 13 needles. As the two original yarn options are quite different, check the appropriate tension carefully when choosing a modern substitute.
Four sizes are included, to fit bust measurements of 30, 32, 34 and 36 inches, with corresponding waist measurements of 25½, 26, 26½ and 27 inches.
Two tensions are given: 8½ stitches and 12 rows to one inch on No. 12 needles, and 8 stitches and 11 rows to one inch on No. 11 needles.
Bust: 30–36 inches. Waist: 25½–27 inches.
