1940s Evening Gown Sewing Pattern – Flared Skirt & Hip Yokes, Bust 42

This vintage sewing pattern is for a full-length evening gown with a four-piece flared skirt and shaped hip yokes joining the bodice at the waist.

The bodice is softly gathered to provide fullness over the bust and finished with a shaped neckline. There is a choice of long fitted sleeves or short sleeves with gathered detail.

Suitable fabrics include rayon, silk or rayon crepe, satin crepe, taffeta, velvet, satin and lace, allowing the gown to be made with either a softer drape or a more structured finish.

The pattern is drafted for a 42-inch bust, a particularly useful larger size for a vintage evening gown pattern.
