Vintage 1940s Waistcoat Knitting Pattern – Colour-work Knit Vest with Pocket, 3 Sizes

A stylish late 1940s waistcoat knitting pattern, featuring a striking design worked in three
alternating colours. This classic vintage piece includes ribbed bands and a neat pocket
on the left front, giving it a tailored look typical of late 1940s knitwear.

The original pattern uses Dritz Luxury Sport Wool (Art. No. 124), 2 oz balls. You will need
Red – 1 (1–2) balls, White – 1 (1–2) balls, and Dusty Blue – 2 (2–3) balls depending on the
size made. The waistcoat is worked on size 4 knitting pins (3.5 mm) and requires 5
buttons and shoulder pads.

Designed to fit 32 inch bust (34–36 inch options included). Length from back of neck is
19 inches (19½ inches for larger sizes), with a side seam of 9½ inches.

Gauge: 6½ stitches and 9 rows to 1 inch.
