A pretty 1950s lace blouse requiring just 2 oz (57 g) of 2-ply fingering yarn, making it a particularly lightweight and economical knit.
The pattern also gives an alternative version worked in Dewhurst’s Silko Pearl No. 5, a fine cotton thread well suited to delicate knitted garments. When using 2-ply fingering, the blouse is worked on UK No. 7 (4.5 mm) needles, while the Silko Pearl version uses UK No. 9 (3.75 mm) needles.
The neckline and sleeves are finished with eyelets through which velvet ribbon can be threaded. Alternatively, a simple crochet chain can be made for a different finish.
You will need either 2 oz (57 g) of 2-ply fingering yarn or two 50 g balls of Dewhurst’s Silko Pearl No. 5. A medium crochet hook is required if making the crochet chain, while approximately 3 yards (2.75 m) of velvet ribbon can be used for the ribbon finish.
The finished blouse is designed to fit a 32–34″ (81–86 cm) bust.
