1950s Plus Size Openwork Sweater Blouse Knitting Pattern – Bust 40–42

This vintage sweater blouse knitting pattern is designed for a 40–42 inch bust and features an openwork stitch pattern throughout.

Originally knitted in 3-ply yarn, the pattern uses old UK No. 14 needles. A needle conversion chart is included to help with choosing the modern equivalent.

Interestingly, the original instructions also give a simple suggestion for making the sweater in a larger size: use No. 12 needles instead of No. 14. As changing needle size will also affect the finished fabric, I recommend knitting a tension square first if you intend to use this method.

To fit bust: 40–42 inches.
