This vintage 1950s knitting pattern features a soft angora bolero in a classic Dolman style
with three-quarter sleeves, paired with a charming Gretel cap. Designed for bust sizes 32,
34, and 36 inches, it’s worked on 3.25 mm (US 10) and 2.75 mm (US 12) needles for that
fine, elegant finish typical of the era.
The original design uses Patons Fuzzy-Wuzzy Angora, a delicate fingering-weight yarn
(now discontinued), with each 10g ball offering approximately 61 yards. You’ll need 9
balls for the 32″ size, 10 for 34″, and 11 for 36″. A similar angora blend or soft fingering
yarn can be substituted to recreate the same light, fluffy texture.
