This 1940s sewing pattern is for an evening or cocktail dress with a four-panel skirt joined at the waist to a circular tunic-style bodice.
The deep open neckline is finished with a crossed and knotted band, creating the main feature of the dress. The pattern also gives you a choice of long fitted sleeves or short sleeves.
Fabrics with some softness and drape will work particularly well with the circular bodice, including satin, silk, rayon, viscose and lightweight cottons.
The pattern is designed for a 34-inch bust, 28-inch waist and 37-inch hip.
Step-by-step instructions are included, together with a sewing guide to provide additional help with construction.
As with any fitted vintage pattern, check your measurements carefully before cutting your fabric. Making a toile first is recommended if you are unsure about the fit.
Bust 34 inches – Waist 28 inches – Hip 37 inches.
