1940s–50s Overall Apron Sewing Pattern – Easy 3-Piece Design

This late-1940s to early-1950s overall apron sewing pattern has a very simple construction, using just three pattern pieces: front, back and patch pocket.

The back is cut in two pieces, while the front wraps around and ties at the sides to adjust the fit. A large patch pocket provides a useful place for keeping small household essentials to hand.

Designed for a 36-inch bust, the uncomplicated construction also makes this a relatively easy pattern to adjust if required.

Cotton, linen, twill and other durable woven fabrics would all be suitable. You’ll need approximately 3 yards of 36-inch-wide fabric, together with bias binding to finish the armholes and edges.

With only a few pieces and straightforward construction, this is a good choice for a beginner or a quick sewing project.
