Ladies 1940s Wartime Trellis Cable Jumper Knitting Pattern

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

This lovely 1940s wartime cable jumper pattern was originally designed during the rationing
years, when knitters made every scrap of yarn count.

It’s a brilliant choice if you enjoy using recycled yarn from old jumpers, as the textured cable
stitch with ribbed borders helps the fabric keep its shape without stretching too much,
practical and beautiful, just as wartime knitting was meant to be.

The original pattern recommends Patons Beehive Fingering 3-ply, worked on 2.75mm
and 3.75mm needles. If you’d like a slightly roomier fit, you can simply switch to 4mm
needles. (Yarn quantities are shown in image 2.)

Designed to fit a 32–34 inch bust, with a tension of 10 stitches per inch over the un-
stretched pattern.
