1950s Sleeveless Sheath Dress Sewing Pattern – Wide Belt

This 1950s sewing pattern is for a sleeveless fitted dress with a shaped bodice, softly gathered skirt and matching wide belt.

The bodice is shaped with darts at both the front and back, while optional mock pocket tabs can be added to the skirt for extra detail. The wide self-fabric belt finishes the waist.

Suitable fabrics include linen, cotton, lightweight suiting, rayon or viscose and similar light to medium-weight woven fabrics.

The pattern is drafted for a 36-inch bust, 30-inch waist and 40-inch hip.
