1950s Classic Twin Set Knitting Pattern – Bust 34–36″

A beautifully simple 1950s twin set with a classic short-sleeved jumper and matching long-sleeved cardigan. It’s an elegant, very wearable style and a lovely example of the neat fitted knitwear of the period.

The original yarn used was Lister Lavenda 3 ply. This was a fine wool yarn, so a modern equivalent should be chosen by matching the pattern tension rather than relying on the old yarn description alone.

You will need approximately 14 oz (397g) of yarn for the complete set.

Tension: 7½ stitches and 10 rows to 1 inch on No. 10 needles.

Measurements:
Bust: 34–36 inches
Cardigan length from shoulder: 19½ inches
Jumper length from shoulder: 17½ inches
Short sleeve underarm seam: 5½ inches
Long sleeve underarm seam: 17½ inches
