1950s Twin Set Jumper & Cardigan Knitting Pattern – Bust 35–40

This vintage knitting pattern is for a matching twin set comprising an open-neck jumper and button-front cardigan.

Designed as an all-day set, the two pieces can be worn together or separately and are both worked in fine 3-ply fingering yarn.

The original yarn was Patons Beehive Fingering 3-ply Patonised or Patons Fair Isle Fingering. Approximately 15–16 oz (426–454 g) is required, depending on size.

The pattern uses old UK No. 10 (3.25 mm) and No. 12 (2.75 mm) needles, together with seven buttons.

Two size ranges are included, to fit bust measurements of 35–37 and 38–40 inches.

The stated tension is 7½ stitches and 9½ rows to one inch.

To fit bust: 35–40 inches.
