1950s Crossover Collar Sweater Knitting Pattern – Bust 30–40

This 1950s sweater knitting pattern features a crossover collar with a single button detail at the neck and comes in three sizes covering bust measurements from 30 to 40 inches.

The body of the sweater is worked in stocking stitch, with the collar knitted in ribbing to give it shape and texture. A back zip provides the close fit typical of sweaters from this period.

Originally designed for fine 2-ply fingering yarn, the pattern uses No. 12 and No. 14 needles. A suitable 3-ply or 4-ply yarn could also be used, but I recommend choosing your yarn by tension and adjusting the needle size if necessary.

The 30–32 inch bust measures approximately 19½ inches in length, the 34–36 inch bust 20 inches, and the 38–40 inch bust 20½ inches. Sleeve seam length is approximately 18 inches for all sizes.

To fit bust: 30–32, 34–36 and 38–40 inches.
