1940s Wrap Coat Sewing Pattern – Tie Belt, Bust 36″

Price range: £10.99 through £20.99

A 1940s wrap coat constructed in shaped panels to create a fitted line through the body. The coat has revers, two-piece sleeves and a tie belt which draws the coat neatly into the waist, with an optional pocket also included in the design.

The coat is fully lined, providing additional structure and making it suitable for cooler weather.

The original pattern does not give specific fabric recommendations, which was not unusual for patterns produced during the wartime period. Tweed, Melton and medium-weight wool or wool blends would all work well, ideally choosing a fabric with enough body to hold the shaping without being excessively heavy.

The pattern is sized to fit a 36″ (91 cm) bust, 30″ (76 cm) waist and 40″ (102 cm) hip.

Suitable for an intermediate sewer.
