1940s Wartime Blouse Sewing Pattern – Long or Short Sleeves

Price range: £9.99 through £15.99

A very easy-to-make 1940s wartime blouse with a choice of long or short sleeves.

The blouse is an overhead style with a front neck opening and a decorative band down the front, trimmed with buttons to give the appearance of a button-through blouse. It can be finished with lace for a prettier look or left plain for a simpler wartime style.

The hem is elasticated to give the blouse its softly gathered shape, although you could leave the hem free if you prefer.

Cotton, silk or a lightweight cotton voile would all work well, with voile being particularly lovely for a summer version.

Skill level: Advanced beginner.

The pattern includes basic step-by-step instructions together with a helpful sewing guide.
