1940s Slips and Bloomer Knickers Sewing Pattern – Vintage Lingerie

Price range: £10.49 through £14.99

A lovely 1940s lingerie pattern featuring two different slips and a pair of matching bloomer-style knickers.

The first slip has delicate spaghetti-style shoulder straps and a softly shaped neckline, while the second has wider, built-up shoulder straps for a little more coverage. Both have a gently fitted shape that falls into a comfortable, slightly flared skirt.

The matching knickers have a traditional bloomer shape with elasticated legs, making them a practical alternative to more fitted underwear of the period.

The original fabric suggestions include washing satin, rayon, cotton and crêpe de Chine. A soft, lightweight fabric with a good drape would work particularly well for the slips, while cotton or rayon would be lovely for the bloomers.

The pattern is sized for a 34-inch (86 cm) bust, 28-inch (71 cm) waist and 37-inch (94 cm) hip.

The pattern includes step-by-step sewing instructions and a helpful period sewing guide for additional guidance with vintage sewing techniques.
