1940s Princess Line Dress Sewing Pattern – Notched Collar, Bust 38″

A beautifully shaped 1940s dress with a bodice tucked below the shoulders and princess-line seams through the back, providing the fitted shaping characteristic of the period.

A neat notched collar finishes the neckline, with a choice of long or short sleeves darted into the armholes. The tie belt is incorporated into the side seams and ties at the back to draw the dress neatly into the waist.

The original pattern does not give specific fabric recommendations, but linen or linen blends, cotton prints, viscose and similar light to medium-weight woven fabrics would all work well for this design.

The pattern is sized to fit a 38″ (97 cm) bust, 32″ (81 cm) waist and 41″ (104 cm) hip.
