Designed as a practical knitted underwear set, this pattern includes an opera vest with satin ribbon shoulder straps and matching bloomer-style panties. The vest features a classic opera neckline, while the bloomer-style panties are finished with an elasticated waist for a comfortable fit. The pattern is provided in two original sizes.
The original pattern was knitted in Ramada Super Knitting Wool 2-ply, using approximately 9 oz (256 g) of yarn. You will also need No. 9 and No. 13 knitting needles, ribbon for the shoulder straps, and a length of elastic for the waistband. If substituting a modern yarn, always knit a tension swatch first to achieve the correct fit.
The original tension is 16 stitches and 13 rows to 1 square inch of unstretched rib, measured on No. 13 needles.
The vest is designed to fit 32–36 inch or 38–40 inch busts, while the panties fit 34–38 inch or 40–42 inch hips.
