1940s Men’s Reversible Sleeveless Pullover Knitting Pattern – 38″ Chest

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

This 1940s men’s sleeveless pullover has a smart V-neck, deep ribbed waist and a lovely all-over textured stitch that gives a simple shape plenty of character. The clever part is that it’s completely reversible, with the seams and edgings carefully finished so that either side can be worn on the outside.

Designed for a 38 in (96.5 cm) chest, the finished length is 23 in (58.5 cm). It is knitted in 7 oz (200 g) of 3-ply fingering yarn using 3.75 mm and 2.75 mm needles, with a 2 mm crochet hook used during finishing. The tension is 6 stitches and 9 rows to 1 inch (2.5 cm).

It’s a very wearable vintage design that would look just as good today over a casual shirt or T-shirt as it would with more traditional tailoring.
