1940s Bestway Double-Breasted Coat Sewing Pattern – Bust 34″

Price range: £10.49 through £20.99

A 1940s Bestway double-breasted coat with a fully lined, tailored construction and distinctive roll-over collar.

The coat fronts are cut in one piece for a clean line through the upper body, with inset skirt sections joining at the waist beneath the pocket flaps. The pockets themselves are inserted into the seams. The back has a centre seam with matching inset side panels providing additional shaping.

Two-piece sleeves are shaped with darts at the wrists, while the double-breasted front completes the structured design.

The original pattern does not give specific fabric recommendations, but wool or wool blends, tweed, Melton and boiled wool would all be suitable choices. A satin or anti-static lining fabric can be used for the fully lined interior.

The pattern is sized to fit a 34″ (86 cm) bust, 28″ (71 cm) waist and 37″ (94 cm) hip.

Suitable for an intermediate sewer, the pattern includes basic step-by-step instructions together with a helpful sewing guide for additional guidance.
