1930s Shell Stitch Jumper Knitting Pattern – Bust 32

Such a pretty 1930s jumper, knitted in a delicate shell pattern with the softly puffed sleeves that give it its distinctive period shape. Ribbed welts, yoke and collar provide contrast to the patterned body, with a small front opening fastened with four tiny buttons.

The original yarn used was 6 oz (170g) of W.B. Velourette 3-ply, an art silk and wool blend.

Needles: No. 9 (3.75mm) and No. 10 (3.25mm)

4 small glass buttons to match the yarn.

To fit a 32 inch bust.

Tension: 7 stitches to 1 inch in width and 8 rows to 1 inch in depth over the pattern.
