1930s Jaunty Knitted Beret Cap and Matching Scarf Pattern

Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

Something a little different from the 1930s! This jaunty little knitted cap takes its inspiration from the fashionable beret, but with an unusual twist. Instead of the traditional rounded crown, it has a distinctive triangular shape that gives it plenty of character.

The cap is worked in an attractive diagonal rib pattern, which is repeated in the matching scarf to make a lovely coordinated set. Both are wonderfully stylish accessories for adding a little 1930s charm to an outfit.

The original pattern calls for Artello Twist knitting yarn, worked on old UK No. 9 (3.75mm) and No. 11 (3mm) needles, with a No. 13 crochet hook (approximately 2.25mm) for finishing.

The original tension is approximately 6 stitches to 1 inch when worked in the pattern.

The finished cap measures 6 inches deep and is designed to fit a head measurement of 20–22 inches. The matching scarf measures 44 inches long and 5½ inches wide.

A delightful little 1930s accessory set, with just the right amount of vintage flair!
