A charming knitted jumper from 1937, featuring a pretty crown motif across the front and a softly rolled neckline. The decorative crown design adds a little interest to an otherwise simple, classic 1930s style.
The original pattern was worked in Golden Eagle Polyknit 3-ply wool, using approximately 6 oz (171 g) of yarn.
Needles: Old UK No. 10 (3.25 mm) and No. 12 (2.75 mm).
A modern light fingering or suitable 3-ply yarn may be a good alternative, but do check your tension before starting to ensure the correct fit.
A lovely example of 1930s knitwear, with an unusual motif that makes it stand out.
