1930s Cross-Over Jumper with Roll Collar Knitting Pattern

A distinctive 1930s knitted jumper with a crossover front, deep ribbed welts and a softly shaped roll collar. Contrasting stripes at the collar and cuffs add a little extra detail and give the design its characteristic period look.

The original instructions are written for a 38″ (97 cm) bust, with directions for adapting the jumper to fit a 32″ (81 cm) or 35″ (89 cm) bust by changing the needle size.

The original yarn used was 10 oz (284 g) of Super Scotch Fingering 4-ply in the main colour, together with 1 oz (28 g) of tweed yarn for the contrasting stripes at the collar and cuffs.
