1940s Tea Dress with Ruched Bodice & Panels – Vintage Sewing Pattern Bust 42″

Price range: £10.49 through £19.99

A beautifully shaped 1940s dress with a softly gathered bodice and gently flared skirt, constructed in panels to give a smooth, flattering fit.

The front is finished with delicate ruching at each side, adding soft shaping without making the design overly fussy. A discreet placket opening sits at the left side, and the dress can be made with either long or three-quarter length sleeves.

Suitable fabrics include rayon, silk, linen, cotton, fine woollens and wool jersey, depending on the finish and drape you prefer.

The pattern is sized to fit a 42″ (107 cm) bust, 36″ (91 cm) waist and 45″ (114 cm) hip.

This design is best suited to an intermediate sewer, as the panelled construction and curved seams need a little care during assembly.

The pattern includes clear step-by-step instructions using traditional sewing terminology, together with the original construction guidance.
