1940s Women’s Lace Stitch Sweater Knitting Pattern – Bust 38

This 1940s jumper is worked in a delicate shell-style lace stitch, with a neat fitted shape and button fastening at the back. The repeating lace pattern gives the design plenty of texture while keeping the overall look simple and distinctly 1940s.

Designed for a 38 inch (97 cm) bust, the original pattern uses 5 oz (142 g) of Patons Beehive Fingering 2-ply yarn.

You will need one pair each of old UK No. 9 (3.75 mm) and No. 12 (2.75 mm) knitting needles.

The required tension is 14 stitches, or one complete pattern repeat, to 1¾ inches (4.5 cm) measured flat.
