1950s Dropped Waist Evening Dress Sewing Pattern – Two Lengths, Bust 34

This vintage sewing pattern is for a dropped-waist evening dress with a panelled bodice and six-panel skirt, with a choice of two finished lengths.

The bodice can be made with fine spaghetti straps or wider straps which form a V at the back. The dress fastens with a side zip beneath the left arm.

The six-panel skirt can be made entirely in one fabric or with contrasting lower panels, giving you quite a different look from the same pattern.

Suitable fabrics include lace, grosgrain, rayon, silk and brocade, with velvet, net or contrasting grosgrain suggested for the lower skirt panels.

The pattern is drafted for a 34-inch bust, 28-inch waist and 37-inch hip and is best suited to an intermediate sewer.
