1950s Princess Dress & Bonnet Sewing Pattern – Kimono Sleeves

This vintage sewing pattern is for a princess-line dress with a yoked front bodice, kimono-style cap sleeves and a back zip fastening. A matching bonnet pattern is also included.

The princess-line construction shapes the dress through the bodice and skirt, while the yoke and short kimono sleeves give the upper bodice its distinctive shape.

Made at tea length, the design would also work well as a Fifties-style wedding or bridal dress, with the matching bonnet providing an alternative to a traditional headpiece.

Suitable fabrics include cotton broadcloth, shantung, dotted cotton and linen.
