1950s Summer Dress Sewing Pattern – Crossover Bodice & Tiered Skirt

This 1950s sewing pattern is for a summer dress with a choice of two bodice styles and a tiered skirt.

The first version has a simple one-piece front bodice, while the second has a crossover front finished with buttons. Both versions are made with the same softly gathered tiered skirt.

Suitable fabrics include silk, rayon or viscose, cotton and linen, as well as bias-print fabrics where the direction of the print can be used as part of the design.

The construction is relatively straightforward and suitable for a beginner with some sewing experience upwards.
