1930s Striped Twin Set Knitting Pattern – Jumper & Cardigan

A really smart twin set from the late 1930s, equally at home in town or country. The short-sleeved jumper has colourful horizontal stripes and a neat ribbed neckline, while the matching plain cardigan features high-set pockets and a flattering, close-fitting shape.

The original colour scheme combines natural grey with stripes of royal blue, scarlet and white, but you could easily choose your own combination. Both pieces work just as well worn separately, making this a lovely, versatile set to knit.

Originally worked in Copley’s Excelsior 3-ply wool, using old UK No. 9 (3.75mm) and No. 11 (3mm) needles.

Tension: 7 stitches and 9 rows to 1 inch using No. 9 needles.

Measurements: To fit a 34 inch bust.
