A pretty 1930s jumper-cardigan with a touch of Tyrolean charm. Knitted in simple stocking stitch, the fitted cardigan has a neat collar, long sleeves and a ribbed waistband. The fronts are decorated with little embroidered flowers in scarlet red, with green leaves and tiny yellow centres, adding a lovely splash of colour to an otherwise simple design.
The embroidery is worked after knitting, so you could easily choose your own flower colours to suit your wardrobe.
The original yarn was 7 oz (200g) of Beehive Shetland Floss, a 4-ply wool, together with one skein each of red, green and yellow embroidery wool. You will also need a pair each of 3.75mm (old UK No. 9) and 3mm (old UK No. 11) knitting needles and 12 small buttons.
Size: To fit a 36-inch bust.
Tension: 6½ stitches to 1 inch.
