A 1939 cocktail jacket knitting pattern with a subtle shimmer, created by working 4 ply
yarn together with a fine metal thread throughout. The result is a delicate sparkle that
suits evening wear beautifully, though it can just as easily be made without the metal
thread for a more understated finish.
The original design used Bear Brand or Bucilla Angel Crepe, paired with Fleisher’s or
Bucilla metal thread, and is worked on 2.75 mm needles. Some basic crochet is needed
to complete the edging, adding a neat, polished finish to the piece.
Designed to fit a 35 inch bust, with a tension of 8 stitches and 15 rows per inch, it’s a
