1940s Ladies’ Knitted Skirts – Three Classic Styles

This lovely 1940s skirt pattern offers three distinct designs, each with its own fit and
silhouette, making it easy to choose the style that suits you best. All three skirts are
worked flat on two needles, creating clean lines and a beautifully structured finish

Each design is sized individually:
Style A is designed for a 37 inch hip, style B for a 39 inch hip, and style C for a
41 inch hip. This makes it simple to select the size that best matches your
measurements without additional adjustments.

All skirts are knitted in 4-ply yarn using a pair of 3.75 mm (No. 9) needles. The original
yarn used was Patons Purple Heather Fingering 4-ply, with approximately 11 oz (312 g)
required for size A and 12 oz (341 g) for sizes B and C.

The tension is approximately 7 stitches to 1 inch, helping you achieve a neat, well-
fitting skirt with a smooth, wearable drape.
