Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting No. 13 is a particularly varied 1930s collection, covering everything from everyday separates and tailored styles to lingerie and evening wear.
The book includes dresses, coats and suits, blouses and skirts, lingerie and evening designs, together with alternative sleeve and collar treatments and a small selection of children’s wear. This makes it a useful book for exploring a much wider range of 1930s styles rather than concentrating on one type of garment.
Unlike many of the individual Haslam design books, No. 13 includes the dress foundation drafting instructions, including the sleeve, on the first page. You will still need the Haslam Drafting Boards to work from your own measurements and complete the drafting process.
The designs use the Haslam System of Dresscutting, allowing you to create your chosen garment to your own measurements rather than working from a standard-sized sewing pattern.
Some of the illustrations have been colourised to help show how the finished garments may look when made up; the booklet itself is presented in its original black-and-white format.
Available as a downloadable PDF or printed booklet.
New to Haslam? The Foundation Instructions & Drafting Boards are also available together as a complete starting set.
