1940s Haslam Dresscutting Lingerie No. 2 – Lingerie, Siren Suit & Wartime Clothing

Haslam Illustrated Book of Drafting for Lingerie No. 2 is a 1940s collection combining lingerie and nightwear with practical clothing designed for wartime life.

The lingerie designs include slips, French knickers, cami-knickers and panties, together with nightgowns, pyjamas and dressing gowns. The collection also includes skirts and blouses, giving a wider choice of everyday garments.

Particularly interesting are the regulation work overall and siren suit, both strongly associated with the practical clothing requirements of the Second World War and making this much more than a conventional lingerie collection.

The designs are created using the Haslam System of Dresscutting, allowing you to draft your chosen garment to your own measurements rather than working from a standard-sized sewing pattern.

To use the designs you will need the Haslam Foundation Drafting Instructions and Drafting Boards. These are used to prepare your personal foundation before adapting it with the drafting instructions for your chosen design. They are not included with this book and are available separately.
