A versatile early 1940s blouse pattern with four different designs and plenty of scope for mixing and matching the details. The sleeves could easily be swapped between the styles, and different fabrics would give each blouse quite a different character.
Views 1 and 2 have simple fronts and backs with neat round collars. View 1 has plain short sleeves, while View 2 has short cuffed sleeves, a front button band and a small breast pocket.
Views 3 and 4 have yoked fronts and backs, with the side sections softly gathered towards the centre front. View 3 has a rever collar and short sleeves finished with cuffs. View 4 has long sleeves with buttoned cuffs and a soft tie neckline that forms a pussy bow at the front.
There are no original fabric recommendations, but cotton, rayon, viscose and polycotton would all be suitable. Lace would be particularly pretty for View 1, while a soft rayon or viscose would work beautifully for the pussy-bow version and allow the gathers and tie neck to drape nicely.
The pattern is for a 32 inch bust.
I would suggest an intermediate skill level, particularly for the yoked and gathered versions, as the instructions are mainly written.
