1950s Kimono Shirt Dress Sewing Pattern – Cummerbund Waist

Price range: £10.49 through £19.99

This vintage sewing pattern is for a kimono-style shirt dress with a button-front bodice, four-piece skirt and a shaped cummerbund at the waist.

The bodice has soft lines with darts at either side of the back and tucks at the front. Matching tucks continue into the front of the skirt, while a side placket provides the additional opening. The cummerbund finishes the waist and fastens through the centre knot.

Suitable fabrics include silk, rayon or viscose, linen and cotton, depending on the amount of drape and structure you want.

The pattern is drafted for a 34-inch bust and 28-inch waist.

Vintage step-by-step instructions are included, together with an additional sewing guide to help with construction.

Bust 34 inches – Waist 28 inches.
