1950s Rockabilly Rose Cardigan Pattern – Vintage Women’s Knitwear

Another beautifully stylish knit from the 1950s, this waist length cardigan is both flattering
and wonderfully easy to make. Designed with elegant three quarter sleeves and worked
mainly in simple stocking stitch, it is an enjoyable project without any complicated charts
to follow. Once the knitting is complete, the roses are embroidered on afterwards, making
it easy to add the floral detail at your own pace.

The welts, cuffs and neckband are finished in classic K2, P2 rib, giving the cardigan a neat,
structured edge that frames the design perfectly. The original yarn used was Wendy
Nylonette 3 ply, worked on No. 9 and No. 11 needles, and you will also need small amounts
of contrasting yarn to complete the rose embroidery.

The finished cardigan is designed to fit bust measurements of 32, 34, 36 and 38 inches.

Tension is 15 stitches and 16 rows to 2 inches over stocking stitch.
