Price range: £3.99 through £5.99

This men’s jumper from the 1950s has a Fair Isle front, with the back and sleeves worked in plain stocking stitch. A V-neck and ribbed borders finish it neatly, and it looks particularly good worn over a shirt.

You’ll need 12oz (341g) of white 4 ply yarn, plus 2oz (57g) each of blue, scarlet and bright green. These are the suggested colours, so you can change them if you prefer a quieter combination. The needles are old UK No. 11 (3mm) and No. 12 (2.75mm).

The pattern includes four chest sizes: 38, 40, 42 and 44 inches (approximately 97, 102, 107 and 112cm). Figures for the larger sizes are given in brackets.
