1950s Princess Line Coat Sewing Pattern – Double Breasted, Bust 34

This 1950s sewing pattern is for a fully lined princess-line coat with a double-breasted front and rever collar.

The coat has two-piece sleeves and a pleat running down the back, held in place by a button at either side of the waist. The princess-line construction gives the coat its shaping without relying on a separate waist seam.

No original fabric recommendations are given. Medium-weight wool, tweed, Melton and similar coating fabrics would work well, although I would avoid anything particularly heavy or bulky. The design is well suited to a lighter coat for Spring or Autumn.

The pattern is drafted for a 34-inch bust, 27-inch waist and 38-inch hip and is best suited to an intermediate sewer.
