1950’s Irish Fisherman Aran Dress Knitting Pattern – Bust 32–36

This vintage knitting pattern is for a straight, slim-fitting dress featuring the heavily textured stitch patterns associated with traditional Irish fisherman or Aran knitting.

Worked in double knitting yarn, the combination of textured panels gives the dress the appearance of an Aran sweater extended into a full knitted dress.

The pattern uses old UK No. 7 (4.5 mm) needles and requires approximately 35–37 oz (992–1,048 g) of DK yarn depending on size.

Three sizes are included, to fit bust measurements of 32, 34 and 36 inches.

The stated tension over stocking stitch is 5 stitches and 7 rows to one inch.
