1940s Twin Set Knitting Pattern – Cable Rib Jumper and Cardigan

A pretty 1940s twin set featuring a short-sleeved jumper and matching button-front cardigan with a neat collar. Both pieces are worked in a lovely narrow cable rib pattern, giving the knitwear plenty of texture without being overly fussy.

The borders are finished in simple 1×1 rib, and the matching pieces look just as good worn separately as they do together. A lovely, practical addition to a vintage wardrobe.

The original pattern uses 3-ply fingering yarn, knitted on old UK No. 9 (3.75mm) and No. 11 (3mm) needles.

Tension: Approximately 10 stitches and 10 rows to 1 inch.

Size: Both garments fit a 32–34 inch bust.
